Job Description
This role is designed for an experienced bookkeeper/accountant who is ready for the next step in their career. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, meticulous and enthusiastic with a can-do attitude. This position will be responsible for accomplishing a multitude of higher level accrual and cash basis accounting-related tasks for multiple clients. This individual should be a well-rounded candidate with strong analytical skills, requires minimal direction from Controllers, and possesses a wide range of technical capabilities to deliver quality, accurate and timely results.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs the following duties with an advanced level of bookkeeping and accounting knowledge and with minimal oversight of management.
Maintain books for multiple clients in both cash and accrual basis
Recording checks, payments and bank deposits
Bank and credit card downloads and reconciliations
Manage the accounts receivable process, including recording invoices, payments, and adjustments for unbilled revenue and deferred income
Record AP bills, payment and accruals
Responsible for Inventory and Fixed Asset Management
Responsible for completing pre-closes and financial reporting process (FRP) reviews
Payroll processing using Intuit or other third party payroll company and review quarterly and annual reports such as W-2, W-3, 941, State U/E
Record and maintain financing transactions, such as loans, leases, and investments
Completion of timely and accurate monthly close process
Calculation and preparation of tax forms and payments (sales & use tax, 1099s, & Statutory State taxes)
Produce QuickBooks financial reporting and statements, including class-tracking, job-costing and budget vs. actual
Prepare monthly financial analysis in preparation of discussion with clients
Use critical thinking to research issues and provide meaningful solutions
Provide budget preparation assistance
Independently interpret and apply knowledge to resolve technical accounting issues
Makes process improvement recommendations to increase job efficiency and effectiveness
Lead weekly client meetings and provide a high-level of customer service
Partner with client third-party advisors for exchange of data and reports
Tracks time on client engagements and monitors work against budgets
Qualifications
AIPB or a 2-year Associates degree in an accounting-related field of study
3-5 years as a full-charge bookkeeper, including daily transaction processing, monthly close and financial reporting
Advanced knowledge of fundamental bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices and procedures, including enhanced levels of: financial reporting and analysis, budgeting, prepaids/accruals, capitalization, financing, job costing and regulatory tax requirements.
Possess a very high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

Proven experience meeting deadlines
Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking and analytical skills
Exceptional communication skills that bridge the gap within a virtual environment
Comfortable interacting with clients via phone and webcam

Able to work independently and as a team player
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word and Outlook
Proficient with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online
Experience with third-party applications is preferred, such as Bill.com, Tallie, HubDoc, TeamWork
