Freight Logistics Coordinator

reSAWN TIMBER co. provides new and reclaimed wood products for architectural specifications for flooring, interior wall cladding, ceilings, exterior cladding, and custom millwork. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Providing accurate & timely quotes for shipments and obtaining the best possible pricing
• Coordinate shipments to ensure they meet all the customers needs
• Plan and track shipment of final products according to customer requirements
• Monitor daily pickup and delivery statuses and ensure carrier update compliance
• Build out carrier network to develop options for securely delivering freight at best possible price for the customer
• Communicate with freight brokers and carriers to achieve best possible customer services and pricing
• Work with in-house Project Coordinators to ensure smooth shipments and setting proper expectations for customers
• Maintain logs and records of shipments
• Prepare accurate reports for upper management as needed
• Arrange same-day deliveries whenever possible
• Track shipments across multiple channels
• Track and oversee freight claims
• Support with maintenance of logistics policies, procedures, support plans and similar data
• Investigate and resolve freight invoice billing exceptions
• Maintaining margin on freight
• Coordinate with Warehouse Shipping Manager on pickups and deliveries to ensure a smooth daily work flow
• Develop tools for improved tracking & communication of freight/logistics during the sales process and to the customer

Education/ Experience Requirements:

• Degree preferred (ideally in Logistics) but not required if sufficient industry experience.
• Minimum 4 years of transportation management experience such as, but not limited to: dispatching, carrier management, freight payment or order management activities.
• Experience coordinating the process of transporting wood products to construction job sites preferred
• Background using TMS applications preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
