What are the responsibilities and job description for the Porter/Houseman position at Residence Inn by Marriott Cleveland-Avon?
The Residence Inn Avon at the Emerald Event Center is looking for a part time houseman. The hours will vary based on demand of the hotel. Shifts will be 830am-430pm, 10am-6pm, or any other hours as needed.
Job duties:
- Provides a clean, safe and sanitary environment in all public areas of the hotel for our guests, associates and vendors.
- Cleans public areas to include: hotel lobby stairways, elevators, vending areas, recreation areas, walkways, and corridors. May include shoveling snow or applying “ice melt” on sidewalks during inclement weather.
- Strips all guest rooms of dirty linen and trash
- Empties and cleans trash containers located inside and outside of the facility.
- Take care of the pool/spa area
- Performs heavy cleaning and moving duties in assigned areas to include setting up and breaking down of meeting areas.
- Stocks supplies and cleans assigned areas in the hotel.
- Operates and cleans housekeeping equipment such as the vacuum cleaner, buffer, carpet shampooer, and mop unit. Uses appropriate safety signage.
- Performs housekeeping duties as needed.
- Assists Maintenance Manager in preventative maintenance procedures, light plumbing and maintenance repairs.
- Follows established safety procedures, use of personal protective equipment.
- Provides assistance to other departments of the hotel to contribute to its smooth operation.
- Maintain a clean, pleasant, and professional image to guests and associates.

Pay: From $14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 24 per week
