Material Handler - Level 2

The purpose of this position is to support all logistical operations in the performance of their assigned duties. Position ensures that Company/Department productivity and safety goals are met while maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly work environment. The primary responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:

Spend 100% of time on the Production areas supporting all related activities and functions of the production. The purpose of this position is to support all logistical operations in the performance of their assigned duties. Position ensures that Company/Department productivity and safety goals are met while maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly work environment. The primary responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Efficiently, accurately, and safely loads, and stack/store finished products and raw materials using Forklift as defined by the process Work Instructions in support of all inventory control, and production support functions.
• Efficiently, accurately, and safely locate and place products in the appropriate storage areas as defined by the process Work Instructions.
• Efficiently and accurately enter all relevant System Inventory Transactions as defined by the process Work Instructions.
• Use appropriate forms/documentation to ensure all products going to warehouse and orders of the production are transferred, picked and packed correctly and accurately as defined by the process Work Instructions
• Verify products and/or orders meet quality standards, including reporting any damages or discrepancies and ensure all quality control functions are processed as defined by the Work Instructions.
• Proactively engage in Daily work driving Continuous Improvements, and work in a Team environment performing to expectation and established standards.
• Follow escalation process.
• Always wear all required PPE, follow all safety standards and policies, and actively engage in the Company Safety Program
• Initiate and proactively participate in continuous process improvements.
• Maintain all assigned areas, equipment, and all required checklists (5S/Cell Risk/Equipment), ensuring they are completed daily and adhere to standards.
• Adhere to ROE, and Company/Departmental Policies.
• All other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualification

• Experience
  • At least 1 years of experience as Material Handler/distribution environment with proficient understanding of production department.

Additional Qualifications

• General mathematic skills.
• Problem solving skills are a plus (diagnosis and resolution).
• Ability to work effectively in a team atmosphere.
• Ability to help facilitate and contribute to Team Goals.
• Intermediate to advanced computer experience preferred (MS Office suites, Excel, MS Word, etc).
• Ability to work overtime.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Working knowledge and proficiency of material handling techniques or equivalent experience.
• Must be able to read, write and use Material Handling Equipment (Forklifts,).
• Must also occasionally lift and /or move up to 35 plus pounds.
• Demonstrated problem-solving ability, strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to simultaneously manage multiple time-sensitive tasks.
• A strong team member, able to shift roles as required by the group dynamic.
• Ability to work in inclement temperatures.
• Ability to apply some Leadership and interpersonal skills in a Team environment to drive continuous improvements.
• Ability to constantly walk, bend and lift.
• Ability to work self directed with little direction and guidance in routine activities.
• Experience in SAP and/or BPCS/AS400 Systems.
• Ability to recognize and seek direction and guidance where and when needed.

Preferred

• Ability to work flexible hours and overtime including weekends.
