What are the responsibilities and job description for the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Subject Matter Expert (SME) position at Resource Management Concepts, Inc.?
RMC is hiring an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support our Navy customer in Indian Head, MD (Stump Neck).
The candidate shall provide support to the Joint Service EOD community and Joint Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technical Support Center (JEODTSC) regarding the development of tools, equipment, information, and procedures for ordnance. Subjects include ground, underwater, and air delivered ordnance, U.S. and foreign, as well as Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) to include Chemical, Biological, Nuclear and Radiological (CBRN) items. The selected candidate will be expected to perform the following:
- Collect and validate information from a variety of sources to include numerous intelligence and open-source collection areas, such as Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC), Munitions Item Disposition Action System (MIDAS), as well as Intelligence Community (National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC), National Ground Intelligence Center (NGIC), Missile and Space Intelligence center (MISIC), Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) and Central Intelligence Agency (CIA)).
- Analyze information collected to determine validity of source and to evaluate the confidence level of the information.
- Work collaboratively with Content Developers to develop or revise the 60-series publication identifying any special requirements. At times may perform as a Content Developer for assigned projects advising on munitions technology, EOD applications, and EOD procedures collaboratively with a team of other Content Developers and Subject Matter Experts.
- Provide editorial and quality assurance support for the preparation of EOD countermeasures manuals, ordnance identification guides, specifications, technical reports, training materials, and other technical documentations in accordance with applicable Government specifications.
- Develop detailed step-by-step procedures for use by EOD technicians to render safe and dispose of specific munitions items or weapons systems; develop and write test plans for render safe procedures; prepare draft manuals and instructions; and coordinate and resolve publication changes resulting from validation and refinement of render safe procedures.
- Ten (10) years of experience as an EOD Technician, Master Navy EOD Technician preferred. A bachelor’s degree is preferred, but not required.
- An active DoD Secret clearance is required to start. Applicants selected may be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
