RMC is hiring a Jr. Technical Writer to provide onsite support for our customer at Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Indian Head in Indian Head, MD. The selected applicant will assist with technical writing, technical editing, and quality control for ordnance identification guides, preliminary employment manuals, technical specifications, reports, presentations, training materials, and other technical documentation.
The selected applicant will be expected to:
- Prepare and provide editorial/quality assurance for 60 series publications, identification guides, preliminary employment manuals, specifications, technical reports, training materials, and other technical documentations in accordance with applicable government specifications.
- Ensure that technical and visual information (graphics, tables, videos, thumbnails, and super thumbnails) adhere and conform to established writing, editing, and formatting standards.
- Coordinate and communicate frequently with Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Subject Matter Experts.
- Conduct independent research using various databases, websites, and repositories.
- Create, maintain, and update bibliographic material.
- Collaborate with colleagues and fellow technical writers to ensure consistency through the teams.
- Provide additional input and draft proposed changes or recommendations to improving writing standards.
Requirements:
- An associate degree in a technical, writing, or other related discipline required, plus at least one (1) year of technical writing/editing experience.
- Security Clearance: An active DoD Secret clearance is required to start. Applicant selected may be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
