Sr IT Support Technician Needed in Manufacturing at “Type Company” in South Jacksonville for ResourceMFG / Remedy Workforce Specialist
Schedule: is Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm with a 30-minute lunch (or 8 to 5 w/1 hour lunch).
Pay: $28/hr (weekly pay) Temp to hire potential after 6 months.
Position Summary: Ensure all plant-wide systems are securely connected and performing smoothly to serve the needs of the user base. Perform day-to-day maintenance and repairs, including software and computer installations and upgrades, routine automation, security maintenance, troubleshooting, training, and end-user technical support
Job Requirements:
- Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent course of study is preferred.
- 5 years of experience successfully troubleshooting large, complex networks.
- Education or experience with server configuration and security in Windows and Linux environments, backup and security procedures, performance monitoring tools, etc.
- Education or experience with Microsoft Active Directory.
- Must be able to diagnose problems related to servers, network equipment and PCs. Coordinate and perform change management including updating servers and software.
- Must be available on ‘off hours, including Sunday afternoons, to perform necessary changes
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide technical support and training for both hardware and software issues that our users encounter.
- Manage the configuration and operation of client-based computer operating systems.
- Monitor the system daily and respond immediately to security or usability concerns.
- Create and verify backups of data.
- Respond to and resolve help desk requests.
- Installing and configuring all IT equipment including updates, patches, hardware, and connectivity.
- Administrative infrastructure, including firewalls, databases, malware protection software and other processes.
- Review application logs.
- Install and test computer-related equipment.
- Being on-call as needed to provide user support.
- Coordinate and plan any upgrades to software, hardware, or production equipment with local management to ensure they meet corporate standards and policies.
- Reporting ongoing concerns and collected metrics to the IT Operations Manager
