Responsibilities • Organize and store all chemicals, substances, fluids and gases according to safety instructions. • Conduct procedures under defined conditions to verify/reject various types of hypotheses using refined scientific methods • Record all data and results in specified forms with accuracy and responsibility • Maintain equipment and assist in ordering laboratory supplies • Ensure that all safety guidelines are always followed strictly and maintain a clean and orderly environment JOB SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS • Attention to Detail: Performing tests requires exact measurements and a good eye for detail. • Dexterity: Lab techs work with their hands and will need dexterity to work with small vials, test tubes, and delicate lab equipment. • Stamina: Lab techs work long days on their feet, sometimes hunched over a workstation for long periods of time. • Technical Skill: Lab techs need to understand complex lab machinery and computer programs used to conduct tests. • Physical Abilities: Able to lift 50 pounds
