POSITION: BOOKKEEPER
Location: Atlantic Highlands, NJ
Job Description Summary
Reporting to Resources Real Estate’s Broker of Record, the Bookkeeper is a financial professional who is responsible for recording the financial accounts and records of the company. Duties include checking accounting records for accuracy, tracking invoices and payments and maintaining a system for organizing company documents.
We are seeking a part-time Bookkeeper with experience in A/P, A/R, general ledger, and financial account reconciliations to work approximately 24 hours per week. General Responsibilities
Position will assist in maintaining accurate financial records for all business concerns, including purchases, sales, receipts and payments. include working closely with our accounting team to create financial reports and ensure legal requirements compliance, process accounts payable and receivable and manage invoices and tax payments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Self-motivated with a high level of energy and enthusiasm
- Anticipating objections and prepared to overcome them
- Putting together financial reports
- Fact-checking accounting data
- Notifying senior staff of any accounting errors
- Data entry and recording of financial transactions and completing the posting process
- Tracking payroll data
- Accounts payable input and vendor relationship management
- Processing accounts receivable/payable and handling payroll in a timely manner
- Maintain monthly journal entries and account reconciliations
- Preparing weekly and monthly reports as requested by management
- Performing other duties as assigned
Requirements
The ideal candidate will meet with following requirements:
- Proven bookkeeping experience
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
- Data entry skills
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software
- Proficiency in English and in Google Workspace (e.g. gmail, calendar, drive, docs, slides, sites, forms, meet)
- Customer service orientation
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently
- Proficient in QuickBooks
- Proficient in Excel and Google Sheets
- Willingness to learn new real estate accounting software (e.g. SkySlope Books)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Associate Degree or higher in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration, preferred
- Real estate bookkeeping and accounting, preferred
- Bookkeeping Experience: 1 year

Compensation & Benefits:
- $22-25 per hour
- Part-time (3 days per week, 24 hrs)
