What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician Apprentice position at ResProp Management?
At ResProp, we want to help you grow your career in property operations. Our Facilities Operations team has a program to train people with limited or no experience in property maintenance, equipping them with the skills needed to maintain multi-million dollar properties. You will be trained to learn various aspects of maintenance operations including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, appliances, pool maintenance, drywall, carpentry, remodeling and other aspects. You will also get to work towards your EPA and HVAC certifications. The long-term goal is to help you grow into a maintenance leadership role and continue up the path to Maintenance Supervisor and later Regional Director.
As a Maintenance Apprentice, you will work closely with our experienced maintenance team to gain hands-on experience in the upkeep and repair of our apartment communities. This position offers a unique opportunity for individuals with a passion for maintenance to develop their skills in a dynamic and rewarding environment. The apprenticeship program is a 6-month program. Once completed, you will have the opportunity to be promoted to a full-time maintenance technician.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in routine inspections and maintenance of apartment units and common areas.
- Learn and apply basic repair and troubleshooting skills for plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
- Participate in apartment turnover processes, including painting and minor repairs.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to address resident service requests promptly.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Two days per week of training and online courses are required for this program
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong interest in apartment maintenance and property management.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team.
- Basic knowledge of maintenance tools and techniques is a plus.
- Valid driver's license and transportation.
