RESSCO is looking for an Accountant to work in our main office in Southfield, MI. RESSCO owns and manages multiple properties and which has more than 50 years of combined experience involving multi-million dollar real estate transactions, equity investments and development /construction projects. Responsibilities:
- Assist with monthly financial statements
- Assist the property management team to successfully deliver financial reports
- Generate the annual work papers (balance sheet reconciliations) and supporting schedules for tax return prep and/or audits
- Review and analyze G/L activity
- Assist with annual budgets and monitor monthly performance
- Analyze actual vs. budget variances and author variance notes
- Assist with the acquisition and disposition of assets
- Work in a team environment and independently
- Communicate effectively with property and company management team members
- Special projects as assigned by management
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related subject
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- 1-3 years of accounting experience
- Ideal candidate will be detail oriented and possess excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving and interpersonal skills, have a strong work ethic and have the ability to meet deadlines
- Time management skills are a necessity
- Excellent math skills, financial acumen, and strong attention to detail
- Analytical and Intellectual curiosity
- Proven ability to continuously improve
