What are the responsibilities and job description for the $10.000 Sign on bonus* CNA Full-Time 3pm -11pm position at Rest haven-York?
*$10,000.00 Sign on/retention bonus for certified full-time staff.
Must work full-time 3p-11p as a CNA for one full year in order to receive full bonus.
Full-Time 3pm - 11pm Includes every other weekend as needed and every other holiday.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Perform AM or PM care as required following the care plan outlined for each resident. Keeping up with all changes to the plan of care throughout resident’s stay.
2. Assists residents to and from bed, chairs, etc. Employee must be able to lift 50 lbs.
3. Bathes Residents, gives shampoos, shaves Residents, trim nails, and assists Residents with personal and dental hygiene.
4. Dresses Residents properly and comfortably.
5. Makes beds and keeps Resident rooms clean and orderly.
6. Delivers, serves, and removes meal trays. Assists Residents with meals. Helps to feed. Gives personal care after meals.
7. Transports Residents for meals, activities, and therapies.
8. Serves fresh water, ice, and nourishment.
9. Assists Residents to and from bathroom. Assists Residents with bedpans and urinals. Keeps incontinent Residents clean at all times. Changes bed linen as often as necessary.
10. Prepares Residents for tests, x-rays, physician visits, therapies, activities, etc.
11. Rinses out heavily stained Resident laundry.
12. Assists relatives and visitors.
13. Assists with and/or performs procedures as outlined and with proper instruction and supervision such as: admitting, transferring, and discharging; taking and recording vital signs; measuring and recording intake and output, collecting specimens; changes binders and slings; empties colostomy bags and drainage bottles; applies hot and cold compresses, and give sitz baths.
14. Cares for Residents in isolation.
15. Assists with care of dying/deceased.
16. Uses safety devices and takes precautions.
17. Ensures that room temperature and humidity are compatible with the Resident.
18. Assists nurses in giving treatments and examining Residents.
19. Uses aseptic technique and universal precautions in all Resident care to prevent spread of disease and infection.
20. Observes Residents and notes physical condition, attitude, reactions, appetite, etc.
Reports changes or unusual findings to supervisor.
21. Charts required information and signs entries.
22. Answers call-lights and bells timely.
23. Receives and gives reports.
24. Assists with alarm rounds at change of shift.
25. Attends inservices, seminars, workshops, and conferences related to field.
26. Assists with emergencies and in redirecting agitated Residents.
27. Reserves Resident information as confidential.
28. Recognize your role as part of the QAPI efforts of your organization.
29. Attend trainings to build understanding and capacity to undertake QAPI work.
30. Carry out QAPI roles and responsibilities as assigned.
31. Follow established policies and procedures in support of QAPI efforts.
32. Look for and share with leadership ideas for improvement in the organization.
33. Communication to leadership upon witnessing a positive outcome of a QAPI project or detecting barriers preventing project success.
34. Support QAPI efforts both verbally and non-verbally (i.e., via actions and attitude), including adjusting performance and practice in accordance with QAPI initiatives and findings.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Assists with physical and occupational therapy.
2. Performs personal services for Residents within reason, such as: reading, writing letters, operating TV/radio, and running in-house errands.
3. Performs assigned clerical duties at nursing station. Answers telephone and intercom. Runs errands as directed by supervisor.
4. Participants in unit cleaning duties, such as cleaning of wheelchairs and gerichairs, as directed.
5. May perform other duties as directed by supervisor.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
1. Well-lighted, ventilated rooms and halls.
2. Sits, stands, and walks intermittently during the workday.
3. Lifting, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling are required.
4. Communicates with nursing personnel, Residents, visitors, family, and other department personnel.
5. Exposed to infection, odors, and to peculiarities in the behavior and reactions of the aging.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school graduate preferred or equivalent.
2. Current Pennsylvania State Certification for nursing assistant. Must be in good standing.
3. Previous experience in hospital or nursing home preferred.
4. Must have patience, compassion, a sense of responsibility and a sincere desire to work with the aged and infirmed.
5. Mental and physical health sufficient to meet the demands of the position.
6. Demonstrates ability to communicate with the elderly and other personnel.
7. Ability to anticipate needs and modes of geriatric Residents while remaining calm and composed.
8. Ability to treat Rest Haven and Resident information as confidential.
9. Must be a professional.
10. Criminal history background clearance – Act 169 & Act 13.
