reSTART is currently seeking self-starters to work as direct care/life enrichment staff in a residential setting overlooking the beautiful cascade mountain range. Of course, you'll be working at one of America's most innovative companies according to Fast Company's 2017 report.

Job Summary

Provide life enriching direction to participants; be able to observe, assess and understand human behavior, think critically and act ethically using input from a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, coaches, and program staff. Ideal candidates will engage and educate youth and young adults with fun, laughter, and challenge as they promote the benefits of an active (non-digital) lifestyle.

Responsibilities | Caring for others

  • Dependability is key as we need you to help our organization be its best
  • Carry out a variety of small group and individual activities like playing sports, learning about life skills, art, self-care, etc.
  • Participate in caring for youth/adults seeking to change their lives
  • Communicate individual progress/problems with the team
  • Communicate circumstances and events of operations to supervisor and other appropriate people to keep all apprised.
  • Work alongside fellow staff members and assist in their activities
  • Provide a positive and safe living/recreation environment and experience
  • Facilitate communication between shifts regarding residents and program operations
  • Monitor client medications, observing clients taking oral meds as appropriate
  • Provide individual, group milieu, and family meetings as required
  • Inspect and maintain recreation equipment
  • Be able to set appropriate boundaries with others and hold them accountable
  • Maintain certifications as required
  • Transport clients to community meetings and activities
  • Be the primary staff member on duty during shift
  • Complete end-of-shift reports and relevant documentation as required
  • Take appropriate action when clients are missing, ill, injured, or otherwise physically and/or psychiatrically impaired
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Adhere to reSTART® Code of Ethics as well as ethical standards of the field

Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully perform this job.

Education/Experience:

  • Have a high school diploma or high school or high school equivalency course of study (GED/HSEC),
  • At least one year of experience working with children or youth; and
  • At least one year of successful full-time work experience; and
  • Experience with emerging youth and adults in educational, mental health, and/or residential setting a plus.
  • This position requires some travel and flexibility of work schedule.

General Qualifications

  • Be at least twenty-one years of age or between eighteen and twenty-one years of age if enrolled in an internship or practicum program with an accredited college or university and can provide sufficient documentation (state requirements).
  • Have the skills and ability to work successfully with the special needs of children in care; and
  • Effective problem-solving and healthy coping skills.
  • Ability to work with team of clinical and residential staff.
  • Good communication skills, positive team member, self-starter.
  • Scheduled shifts may fluctuate between day or swing dependent on the needs of the milieu and the availability of staff.
  • Must be able to attend a one-time Human Resources Orientation on a weekday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Additional Certificates, Licenses and Requirements:

  • Valid Washington driver’s license with a driving record that meets agency requirements
  • Valid Washington State food handler’s permit
  • Completion of CPR (in-person), First Aid, CPI non-violent crisis intervention within 30 days.
  • Proof of negative TB test
  • Pass criminal background check

Location: Monroe, WA (Serenity Mountain).

Salary Range : Starting pay generally $20-$22 per hour. Commensurate with experience. Employment hiring decisions made after 180-day performance evaluation. Part-time positions open for weekends.

Youth and adults are referred by Family Members, Wilderness Programs, Treatment Centers, Ed Consultants, and Healthcare Providers who recognize the benefits of having a plan for managing digital distractions.

reSTART provides innovative, evidence-based care through closely monitored programs and unique resident incentives, creating a comfortable, safe environment for people to heal and flourish.

We offer several unique programs within our family of services: a Short-Term Intensive Program that consists of a 60-90 day period, during which individuals fully participate in the daily therapeutic milieu in life-sharing community for adults 18-28 y/o (Fall City, WA); an adolescent staffed residential/group care home at Serenity Mountain for youth (13-17) in Monroe, WA; and an independent living program based in Redmond, WA for individuals embracing a limited digital lifestyle while attending college, working, or volunteering in the community. Individuals connected with reSTART engage in individual, group, and family therapy with community providers specializing in problematic Internet and video game use.'
