Medical Director, Full-time.
Summary:
A dynamic, internally motivated physician with a background of training in General Psychiatry with either experience or a subspecialty in Addiction Medicine. The Medical Director leads a team of health care professionals in the task of detoxification and treatment of addiction and co-occurring disorders in a residential setting. Additionally, develops and trains on up-to-date medical practices, policies and procedures with addiction medicine and acute and chronic medication management. As the Medical Director, you will facilitate the provision of supervision, teaching and oversight to the entire medical department.
At Retreat, The Medical Director is immensely supported by professional staff including providers in our network. Occasional provider coverage may be requested of you in the absence of provider staff, provider task include:
- Medical histories
- Physical exams
- Mental status evaluations
- Assessments
- Admission orders
- Acute and chronic medication management
Qualifications required include:
- Medical Director must have an MD or DO degree with training in Psychiatry and either experience or a subspecialty in Addiction Psychiatry.
- Current licensure in the state of employment with an unrestricted medical license.
- DEA certification for the use of buprenorphine within sixty (60) days of hire or contract.
- The ability to work in a supportive, caring and non-judgmental environment with staff and patients.
- Prior experience as a Medical Director
