The Role
ReUp Education is seeking a skilled Director of Product Design to define and deliver against a bold strategy for the organization's product design practice. This role will be pivotal in translating our product vision into unforgettable, high-value experiences that re-shape the higher-education and workforce landscape.
As the Director of Product Design, you'll report into the VP of Product and lead the team responsible for creating exceptional user experiences across our products. You will have a rare opportunity to bring to life a full suite of technology platforms, including: a learner-facing education-to-career marketplace, government and school-facing SaaS, and internal tools that supercharge our marketing and coaching functions.

What you'll do
As our Director of Product Design, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Provide strategic direction and vision for the product design team, aligning design efforts with roadmap and overall business objectives.Roll up your sleeves as a hands-on product designer for critical projects.Build, lead, inspire, and mentor a high-performing team of product designers, nurturing their skills, and fostering growth and strategic opportunities for innovation.Support and motivate the team to manage deadlines in collaboration with product and engineering partners to reliably deliver against roadmap goals.Oversee creative and design direction for multiple products, ensuring a consistent user experience that delivers ease and value through every feature.Collaborate closely with product management, engineering, marketing, learner services, and other stakeholders to deliver successful products.Ensure that the design team adheres to established design guidelines and best practices. Be an advocate for design excellence and experiential best practices throughout the company.Define and implement the product design process, fostering a culture of design excellence with extreme attention to detail and thorough quality assurance.Drive user-centered design by conducting and analyzing user research, ensuring all insights find a home within our products.Measure and optimize the impact of design on key metrics that move the needle for the business.Keep abreast of design trends and industry developments, incorporating relevant advancements into the team's workflow.QualificationsResearch shows that women and people from underrepresented groups often only apply to jobs if they meet all of the qualifications. 8 years of proven experience in product design leadership with a strong track record of delivering successful products.Exceptional understanding of user-centered design principles, UX research, UI design principles, interactions design, and best practices.Demonstrated expertise in crafting cohesive, exceptional customer experiences across digital products.Experience bringing product design upstream to create a cohesive story through product marketing.Strong understanding of consumer and enterprise software development processes and agile methodologies.Great team player, highly self-motivated. Ability to collaborate closely with product managers, product designers, engineers, and copywriters.Ability to translate business requirements into innovative design solutions.Proficiency in design tools and software.Knowledge of front-end development technologies and their impact on design decisions.Experience working in an agile development environment.Exceptional product sense, design intuition, attention to detail, and curiosity.Nice to Have
Experience in a startup or rapidly growing company: Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.Experience in EdTech.Experience in mobile application design.Portfolio demonstrating a strong ability to create exceptional user experiences.Bachelor's degree in Product Design, Interaction Design Graphic Design, Fine Art, Architecture OR equivalent experience.LocationThis hybrid role combines the best of both worlds: in-person collaboration in our Austin, TX office for 2-3 days per week, and the flexibility of remote work.
