Service Advisor
The Service Advisor’s role is an essential part in the operation of Revel’s service team.
The Service Advisor, with the help of our Service Technicians, keeps our fleet of electric and gas vehicles in top condition for our drivers and passengers. Our Service Advisors are the point of contact between our Fleet Team who manage a fleet of over 500 vehicles and our repair shop.
As a Service Advisor, you will be responsible for communicating with stakeholders to determine which repairs are necessary, submitting and quality checking work orders to technicians, ordering needed parts and test driving vehicles after repairs are completed. Driving is also a key component of this role. As such, our advisors and technicians must keep a clean driving record, and be conscientious, defensive drivers.
Responsibilities
- Managing all parts and/or products needed to ensure proper repair of vehicles including parts ordering, receiving and consumption.
- Track each item as it enters the shop through our inventory tracking system, do monthly stock counts.
- Keep a record of what’s been used and where those goods have gone.
- Together with the fleet team, ensure the flow of incoming and outgoing cars in the shop match daily capacities on both mechanical and transporter sides.
- Perform mechanical work when needed.
- Perform field repairs when needed.
- Participate in rotating on call weekend shifts to ensure field repairs when needed.
- Ensuring compliance with regulations affecting service operations.
- Keeping up to date with manufacturer warranties and policies.
- Checking the progress of repairs and service.
- Maintaining work records and files and ensuring work is completed effectively.
- Confers with the fleet team and mechanic team about inspection results, recommend corrective procedures and prepares work order for needed repairs
- Writes a brief description of the drivers concern on the repair order to help the technician locate issue
- Refers to service history, inspects vehicle, and recommends additional repairs/service needed
- Maintain Service Technicians daily repair schedules
- Together with the foreman, hold responsibility for overall shop (warehouse) cleanliness
- Providing training and helping Technicians develop skills
- Follow established procedures and practices and read instructions, blueprints etc.
- Advises on necessary service for routine maintenance and repairs
- Ensures that vehicles are parked in assigned areas. Makes sure they are locked or unlocked, and all keys are marked and put away correctly
