We have a 1st Shift Assembly Technician at our Company Headquarters, conveniently located off 694 and University Avenue in Fridley, MN
Summary:
Perform repetitive workstation or line assembly operations to produce engine components specifically for fuel injection pumps. We have an immediate opening for a 1st shift Mechanical Assembler in our Pumps Department.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform any assembly type and sub-assembly functions to required tolerances and specifications using hand, impact, torqueing and power tools.
- Checking stock bins for adequate supplies of parts/components for the particular run.
- Interact with Material Handler if shortage exists or parts in bins are incorrect.
- Follow standard work instructions to disassemble, clean, inspect & reassemble fuel injection pumps and record all new material that is used.
- Test fuel injectors and adjust opening pressure to specification.
- Report to department supervisor and initiate action to prevent occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, process and quality system.
- Operate stationery or moving overhead hoists, forklifts, baskets and carts.
- Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on machines/equipment as required.
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
- Perform other related operations required or directed. May work at different workstations as production needs require.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Prefer prior mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing environment
- Assemblers must have the ability to diagnose, and problem solve in various situations
- An ability to read and understand detailed written and oral instructions in English is also required.
- Open to consider new graduate from technical school
Hours:
1st Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m
Work Environment:
Fast -paced, hands-on manufacturing setting. The environment on the shop floor is usually loud, hot and humid in the summer months and involves standing on cement floors with exposure to chemicals and metal particles. PPE required on manufacturing floor at all times.
