Responsibilities
Revolution is looking for a Sales Associate for its recycling business located in Terre Haute, IN. We are looking for a proven Salesperson who is dynamic, ambitious, and highly energetic with a passion for consistently surpassing volume and profitability goals. This position will report directly to our Director of Sales and be involved in a broad range of activities, including selling recycled resin, purchasing plastic scrap, coordinating with the plant on schedule, creating blends of recycled resin meeting customer needs, and order entry. This role supports primarily the Midwest region and will require 25% travel, including frequent trips to our Terre Haute plant if you do not live locally.
- Consistently meets sales and gross profit-related goals.
- Manage customer base and develop action plans to support long-term sales growth.
- Nurtures sales volume by studying trends, economic indicators, competitors, pricing, and supply and demand within the market.
- Identify and acquire plastic scrap and resin sources that create value and opportunity for Revolution.
- Make pricing decisions to maximize profit by evaluating the market, our all-in costs, and plant inventory levels.
- Understand customer requirements and work with the plant to produce resin formulations/blends which meet customer specifications.
- Monitor finished goods inventory for sales opportunities.
- Help customers technically integrate our PIR and PCR products into their applications.
- Troubleshoot problems when customer product requirements are not met.
- Address customer needs in product availability, deliveries, and product performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree - business administration, engineering, chemistry, polymer science, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in the plastics or plastics recycling industry, in either a sales or technical role.
- Ideally, this person would have experience in plastic recycling trading and brokering.
- 5 years of demonstrated relevant sales, marketing, and/or customer interfacing experience required.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Customer-oriented with solid negotiation skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including presentation skills and effectively communicating with management and internal and external customers.
- Pragmatic and action-oriented with the ability to adapt quickly to changing business conditions and priorities.
- Proficient computer skills in relevant software systems, including ERP (which is IQMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Build relationships with key customers and plastic scrap generators and suppliers.
- Must be willing to travel up to 25%.
