What are the responsibilities and job description for the Visual Designer position at RevZilla?
Comoto Holdings is America’s largest and fastest growing omnichannel platform in the powersports aftermarket-products industry; dedicated to advancing the experience of moto enthusiasts across the globe. Comoto’s brands, RevZilla, Cycle Gear, J&P Cycles, and now REVER, deliver premium products, dedicated expertise, engaging media, and passionate customer support of the rider community, through best-in-class e-commerce and retail experiences.
Comoto is looking for passionate creatives who are always looking to challenge themselves, and spark others to achieve truly inspiring results. As Visual Designer, you will report to our Art Director, but will collaborate alongside the creative team from concept through execution.
As Visual Designer, the team depends on your ability to be a strong individual contributor and a source of inspiration. You are humble, open-minded, and receptive to feedback from others. You value the impact of open-floor critiques, rapid idea generation, and thoughtful execution. You are comfortable and confident in sharing your opinion with others - encouraging others to think through new ways to improve. You are someone who thrives in a culture of continuous improvement. You recognize that no idea is too dumb - that a multitude of distinct ideas is better than variations on the same - and that executing quickly with great care and attention to detail is paramount to the realization of any idea.
The world of eComm and digital marketing moves quickly so communication, collaboration, and speed are essential. While interest and experience with motorcycles is a huge plus, all talented designers are encouraged to apply (we’d be more than happy to show you ‘round the turns of the motorcycle industry). It’s most important that you have a strong understanding of design principles and the ability to apply them; that you are positive, goal-oriented, work swiftly with attention to detail, and above all else…a lifelong learner - passionate, curious, and enthusiastic.
- Please note that we are happy to hire remote designers not located in the Philadelphia area, however, we would need for you to be able to work east coast hours to align with the rest of our team.
Our Visual Designers Will:
- Work as part of the team, contributing to idea generation and carrying out production of original designs ranging from marketing campaigns to website and digital applications to print and in-store signage to brand materials.
- Work with more senior staff to translate creative requests, requirements, and technical considerations into designed solutions that are compelling, engaging, and easy to use
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners (Development, Merchandising, Marketing, Media, etc.) to ensure creative execution remains consistent, meets standards, and is on-brand
- Clearly articulate and communicate conceptual ideas (verbally and visually), and produce detailed design specifications to ensure successful implementation of your ideas
- Consider each design project holistically, best understanding how your design solution can be implemented across all forms of media and across all devices and platforms
- Give honest and direct input to critiques while being receptive to critique and direction from others
- Keep project on track by meeting incremental milestones and any budgetary or technical constraints
- Projects and assets to include, but not limited to, email marketing, web design, print materials, brand/ui design system, etc.
- Stay current with necessary programs, software and processes
- Stay curious about what makes for excellent design communications and best practices in the current design landscape
Our Visual Designers Have:
- 3 - 4 years professional or equivalent education in Graphic Design, Interface Design, Interaction Design, or a related design discipline
- The ability to meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment
- Experience working as part of a design team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with leading design software packages (Photoshop, Sketch, Illustrator, InDesign, etc…)
- The ability to support projects over the finish line
- Consistency regardless of project size
- Impeccable organizational skills - from filenames to layered files, you make it easy for others on the team to navigate and review your work, or jump in at any time
- Motivation to maintain and improve design standards
- Willingness to listen to feedback and use it to improve
