Scope of leadership role
The Financial Analyst is a key member of the Corporate Accounting team and is responsible for, but not limited to, preparing monthly and quarterly journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and management of IT vendor relations. This position will perform financial analysis utilizing appropriate financial concepts and techniques and recommend alternative courses of action. In addition, this role will also be responsible for the reconciliation of the leasing portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Creation of external Purchase orders ensuring accuracy and within budget.
- Review of invoices and research any discrepancies.
- Backup for Vendor Management, including setting up Vendors, changing, onboarding, and collaboration with contract management team.
- Prepare monthly journal entries reviewing the general ledger for accuracy and proper recording of transactions and corresponding reconciliations.
- Consolidation of Global IT financial data and preparation of the variance analysis.
- Tracking IT Capital Projects, including spend, project completion, and forecasting depreciation.
- IT Lease Management- monthly reconciliation, supporting journal entries.
- Responds to business unit questions regarding accounting policies or implications and provides guidance and support to Regal Rexnord finance teams.
- Provides data as requested to internal and external auditors for the corporate accounting group.
- Works with corporate accounting team to streamline and improve current accounting processes to facilitate the month end close and reconciliation processes.
- Performs tasks in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
- B.S. in Accounting, Finance or related field or equivalent experience.
- 2 years of increasingly responsible accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Blackline and Hyperion experience desired
- Oracle experience, and/or Systems implementation experience a plus
- Self-starter, desire to learn and contribute
- Proven ability to work with a cross functional team
- Demonstrated analytical approach to problem solving
