Vanderweil Engineers specializes in MEP/FP and technology services engineering and construction / commissioning support for buildings, sustainable design, central heating and chiller plants, power generation, and transmission and distribution projects. With offices throughout the United States, Vanderweil is a company that values its clients, its employees and the environment.  We have several internship opportunities available for Engineering students in several different disciplines; Mechanical, Electrical and Fire Protection. 

 PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assisting with design and layout of ductwork and related mechanical equipment such as motors, fans and pumps for new and existing buildings (mechanical) 
• Execute electrical designs in accordance with the Electrical Department’s Procedures and Standards and specific client standards where applicable. (electrical)
• Layout and design of Fire Suppression and Fire Alarm Systems utilizing AutoCAD and REVIT. (fire protection)

• Working with Engineers on commercial, government, healthcare and scientific buildings
• Will utilize Revit for 3D designs and Navisworks to check interferences
• May perform mathematical calculations and assist with equipment research and specifications
• May visit client sites and attend walk-throughs, punch lists or meeting with architects, owners and subcontractors
• Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS 

• Strong analytical ability
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of LEED and sustainable practices helpful

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to visit job sites, ascend and descend stairs, lift 25 pounds and may sit for extended periods of time
