Cargo Security Agent Screener

Objective of the Position

Cargo Security Agent Screener, you utilize a variety of methods to screen cargo for potential threats to the safety of passengers, warehouses, and aircrafts. You will strictly adhere to rules and procedures implemented by TSA (Transportation Security Administration) and pass routine audits to make sure said rules are being followed. You work independently, but at the same time be able to coordinate with warehouse agents to get the job done. Work in a fast-paced warehouse setting. Be organized and neatly file paperwork used for record keeping.

Principle Accountabilities 

• Support to Screen cargo following TSA Guidelines. This includes but is not limited to Physical Inspection and other electronic equipment.
• Understand and effectively communicate all requirements on how Cargo is Accepted and Screened.
• Demonstrate effectively, all relevant Cargo Screening Procedures.
• Be knowledgeable of TSA rules and regulations and follow those rules.
• Responsible for identifying threats and irregularities.
• Breakdown cargo if it is required.
• Prevent said threats and irregularities from making it to aircrafts. 
• Work together with warehouse and office to have a smooth screening process.
• Effectively communicate with relevant Management and Security Personnel in resolving issues in Cargo Screening.
• Effectively communicate Procedures with Relevant Regulatory Agencies and as part of regular audits.
• Effectively communicate Procedures with Relevant Regulatory Agencies and as part of regular audits.
• Interact with government agencies (TSA, CBP) if it is required.
• Make decisions in regular situations and during crises that adhere to the rules set in place.
• Carry out due diligence required to maintain security in Rhenus Facility.
• Be proactive and aware of screening cargo process.
• Maintain organized records of cargo that is screened, Keep records of screening by MAWB or HAWB, and follow up with K9 company to match records.
• Manage and maintain log for seals used on trucks.

Skills/Education & Work Experience Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Must Provide proof of the legal right to work in the United States.
• May be required to work morning, evenings and late hours, including split shifts holidays and weekends
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
• Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Able to speak, Read and Write English.
• Be able to stay focused and on task for a prolonged amount of time.
