Position Summary
The Susanne M. Glasscock School of Continuing Studies (GSCS) amplifies Rice University’s academic excellence and outreach through lifelong personal and professional offerings that empower individuals and organizations, foster community, and promote the common good in Houston and beyond.
The Marketing Automation Specialist for GSCS reports to the Executive Director of Operations and is responsible for managing, maintaining, and improving the marketing automation platform processes and procedures. Working closely with the marketing team to develop and execute the marketing campaigns, the incumbent will also administer and serve as a super-user of the marketing automation platform. The incumbent will plan and advise the marketing team on best practices associated with marketing automation, email marketing, and lead data management.
This position offers a flexible work schedule (minimum of two days in the office per week) upon successful completion of the probationary period. This position requires U.S. work authorization.
Ideal candidates will have a deep understanding of email marketing and the key performance indicator to track marketing efforts. Experience implementing and/or administering marketing automation is highly desired.
Proposed Hiring Range: The annual hiring range is $60,000-$68,000, contingent upon qualifications and experience.
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and Communications or related field
- In lieu of the educational requirement, additional related experience, above and beyond what is required, on an equivalent year-for-year basis may be substituted.
3 years of related experience working with marketing automation platforms
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including presentation skills
- Good organization and creativity skills
- Good analytical problem-solving skills
Essential Functions
- Develops and manages the communication and brand strategy for individual program(s) incorporating appropriate channels
- Recommends, manages, and executes integrated marketing plans/programs and strategies to meet business objectives
- Guides event planning and execution
- Manages vendors on specific projects
- Manages program budget, goals, and objectives in alignment with organizational goals
Additional Functions
- Manage and maintain the marketing automation system
- Analyze and optimize marketing performance to drive conversions
- Analyze and evaluate manual tasks and replace with automation (when possible)
- Assist in managing and cleaning marketing data
- Testing and deploying email and SMS campaigns as needed
- Develop new lead generation capabilities in HubSpot
- Build and deploy email, workflows, landing pages and customer journeys in HubSpot
Preferences
- Experience with marketing automation platform (e.g., HubSpot)
- Experience with email marketing and reporting
- Knowledge of managing CRM
- Knowledge of script writing in Python, JavaScript, CSS, HTML
- Knowledge of lead nurturing and lead scoring process
