What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Scribe/Medical Assistant position at Richard Kim Medicine?
Medical Scribe you will be a vital part of the team and will work under the direction of a medical provider, assisting them in the exam room by documenting the patient encounter in the electronic medical record.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Accompanies the provider to the bedside
- Accurately and thoroughly documents the patient medical history, physical exam, and procedures
- Completes transcription as requested
- Performs tasks to improve provider efficiency during the course of a shift
- Assists with registering patients and cleaning rooms as requested
- Maintains confidentiality with all patient information according to HIPAA laws
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and general medical knowledge
- Excellent listening and note-taking skills
- Ability to apply written instructions and standardize work practices
- Basic computer skills, including the use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Demonstrated ability to type at least 45 words per minute
- Strong communication skills, including grammatical, spelling and verbal
- Detail-oriented with proven ability to work effectively under conditions requiring accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Capable of working well on a team
- Friendly and customer service oriented
Education:
- At least high school diploma
Required License or Certification:
- Will be required to complete scribe training program prior to employment or have scribe experience
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
