Job Description
Lead an experienced team of event, sponsorship, and experiential marketing professionals who are responsible for optimizing audience experiences, engagement, and perception of Ricoh. Provide dynamic motivational leadership, direction, and support.Ensure team provides proactive communication and updates on Ricoh’s event strategy and progress in meeting business requirements to key stakeholdersProvide leadership and oversight over Ricoh’s Partnership and Sponsorship strategy for building brand awareness in key markets.Structure and lead strategic planning sessions with colleagues across marketing, sales, analyst relations, technical leadership teams and other functions that seek to hold or participate in corporate eventsLeverage insights to develop attendee journeys that consider audience needs, appropriate channels (including and extending beyond events such as social, email, etc) and content topics that will attract, engage and deepen relationships and business successCollaborate with marketing teams to continually refine best practices and standards across the organization and then build on them for future event planning and execution.Work with cross-functional marketing colleagues and creative agencies to develop themes, messaging look and feel as well as digital and physical marketing and communications collateral – including multimedia production, creative services, expo design and planning, general session design and speaker and talent bureau management.Provide leadership and management oversight for Ricoh’s Customer Experience Centers, including helping with real estate negotiations, as well as creative development and execution of experiential marketing strategies in these centers.In partnership with Business, Sales, and Marketing Leaders, determine key business and event requirements based on stakeholder priorities, target audience needs, expectations and overall marketing strategy. Establish, monitor and manage performance expectations for meetings, events, incentives, partnerships, sponsorships, and experiential centers.Review and synthesize prior event data and audience insights to inform business requirements and adjustments for ongoing event strategy refinement.Monitor industry trends, competitors, and audience behaviors to recommend appropriate event mediums and approaches to exceed business goalsWork with the team and other business stakeholders to develop and adhere to project and event budgets. Track all expenditures and assure adherence by tracking and reconciling all expenses once budget is approved.As necessary, travel for site inspections and event management, customer experience center event hosting, and other event-related support and execution.Anticipate, develop and implement contingency plans for meeting activities.Manage Partner, Vendor and Real Estate relationships, and associated contract negotiations.Liaise and network with a range of stakeholders including colleagues, customers, dealer customers and vendors.. College degree or equivalent experience required.Ten years minimum work experience in the meetings, events, sponsorships, and experience center industry; deep expertise in organizing events/tradeshows from start to finish, including effective contract negotiation, hotel and vendor selection, A/V equipment management, business writing, and meeting logistics; strong attention to detail, organizational skills, composure, customer service skills, and ability to make quick decisions and maintain tight adherence to budgets.Five years of experience managing a team.
