Job Description
The Web Developer is responsible for the development and daily maintenance of customer websites and fills a critical role at all stages of the development process, from inception to launch of those sites. The Web Developer also assists with technical support of website development and function, and advises clients on best practices in those areas. The Web Developer is expected to work as part of the larger Marketing Services Practice to ensure our customers goals are met through mutually agreed upon targets.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Writes/reads clean well-documented custom code and updates, as needed; updates and develops custom database driven websites to meet special needs of customers as well as company
- Ensures visual and design integrity of websites
- Maintains continual awareness of new media applications and principles and applies those applications and principles to current and new projects
- Undertakes special projects in support of various clients
- Technical expertise in converting a site to a new platform
- Collaborate with sales, marketing leads, communications, and design teams to plan, build and optimize web pages for our customers in support of their key business initiatives
- Translate business requirements into technical requirements
- Research, recommend, and document new features and improvements for page design and web functionality
- Update images, copy, page layout, categorization, and links in support of content changes
- Troubleshoot website issues
- Perform development QA, including cross-browser and device testing
- Manage and work on multiple projects in parallel
- Collaborate with agencies and vendors
- Ensure website adheres to the latest compliance and accessibility standards
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications (Education, Experience and Certifications)
- Bachelor's degree in New Media, Web Development or similar degree
- A minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience managing or developing web applications using JavaScript and a server-side application, including advanced knowledge of concepts like asynchronous programming
- 3-5 years of professional HTML/CSS/SCSS experience
- Requires completion of a four-year degree and/or knowledge typically gained through a four-year degree.
- Requires a minimum of four (4) years of experience in web development
- Requires a valid driver’s license and minimum levels of auto insurance coverage per Ricoh’s policy.
Required Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical team members
- Tech savvy with eagerness to learn new tools/technology and share learnings
- Experience gathering technical requirements and estimating tasks
- Experience working in a team environment and collaborating with cross-functional group
- Experience developing or configuring functionality for a web CMS (ex: Craft CMS, WordPress, etc.)
- Strong working knowledge of responsive web design and cross-platform compatibility
- Capable of creating responsive design interfaces with a clean, visual design aesthetic
- Understanding of software development lifecycle processes (ex: AGILE, SCRUM, etc.)
- Up to date with the latest web technologies and libraries
- Demonstrated problem solving and debugging skills
- Experience working with internal and external developers
- Comfortable in a deadline-driven environment
