What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cardiology Technician position at Ridgecrest Regional Hospital?
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the Medical Director and direct supervision of the Manager, Cardiopulmonary Services Department, the Cardiology Technician assists in providing professional rehabilitative care to adult patients within the Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Program in accordance with objectives, policies and procedures of the department and hospital. Assists in the supervision of the physical exercise program, assesses patients throughout the program. Provides ongoing evaluation and intervention to assist in achieving and maintaining optimal patient outcomes. Greet and direct patients, instruct and prepare patients for procedure, clean testing and rehabilitation equipment, answer and make patient care centered phone calls, along with billing procedures. Participates in patent and family teaching. Performs and maintains Pacemaker Clinic program. Orders supplies as needed. Participates in performance improvement and evaluation activities. Performs other duties as requested by the Department Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
2. MA, EMT, or CNA preferred
3. Minimum 1 year of acute experience.
4. BLS Certification required and maintained thereafter.
5. Department specific Telemetry competency is maintained.
6. Must demonstrate competence in accurate blood pressure performance.
7. Ability to read, write, understand and communicate effectively in the English language.
8. Must be able to put into practice Service Excellence skills with our patients, families and co-workers.
