What are the responsibilities and job description for the Phlebotomist position at RieLes Group?
RieLes Group, LLC is seeking qualified and enthusiastic Phlebotomist(s) to join our team!!! The Phlebotomist(s) in this position will provide contract services to VA Boston Healthcare System (VABHS) and /or the Bedford VA Medical Center (Bedford VAMC). Phlebotomist in this position will receive an attractive compensation package inclusive of competitive hourly pay, paid time off and have access to health insurance and other benefits.
Position Description:
Phlebotomist shall be capable of performing any and all phlebotomist procedures needed without any support. The person in this position must have the ability to work with an inmate population from a variety of cultural, regional, racial, and ethnic backgrounds. Responsibilities include but shall not be limited to:
- Maintenance of a laboratory waiting list and place inmates on call out as needed
- Perform venipuncture from patients for analysis or other medical purposes when necessary
- Collect and process urinalysis
- Daily maintenance of laboratory equipment, including advising when equipment requires professional maintenance or repair
- Biological specimen preparation and packaging for shipment to contract laboratories
- Maintenance of laboratory logs and other records as necessary for complying with CLIA guidelines
- Informing COR of all information pertaining to the services rendered, i.e., specimen(s) obtained
- Report any problems in regards to laboratory services
- Responsible for submitting written reports, evaluations, and/or plans of treatment for all patients evaluated
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Phlebotomist shall be Board Certified /Board Eligible by the American Society of Phlebotomy Technician
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year experience in a clinical or any medical facility requiring experience for communication and skill factors involving medical terminology, forms, reports, etc.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certified by the American Heart Association
- Must be CPR/AED certified
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English well enough to effectively communicate with all patients and healthcare providers
- The individual performing the services must be able to type, file, do basic math and work on a computer, along with the ability to read, understand, fluently speak, and legibly write English
- Shall have a basic understanding of human anatomy and physiology, and understand medical terminology
- Must be a US Citizen
