What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Social Worker position at Right Response LLC?
Right Response is a small organization that provides school based services to local charter schools. Right Response contracts with schools who are unable to hire full time social workers. These schools are typically small, innovative learning environments. Right Response intentionally contracts with schools serving a high number of students living in poverty. The goal of the organization is to make Social Work services accessible to schools who do not have a School Social Worker. Our aim is to serve students and families who would otherwise have limited access to essential services.
The work for each Social Worker is primarily clinical and therapeutic in nature. Social workers carry a caseload, providing trauma informed individual counseling and skills based work as well as facilitating small groups. In addition to clinical services, social workers may provide more traditional school social work services such as developing truancy interventions and connecting high needs families with vital community resources. Working through a relational lens is at the core of what we do as our clients are both the young people and their families, as well as the schools we serve. We are always training our schools them how to benefit from a School Social Worker so that they recognize the valuable resource that we are. The work is fun, inspiring, flexible and dynamic! Social Workers must be licensed. Right Response is committed to working in high poverty and academically innovative schools. We are currently hiring for the 2023-2024 school year. We are looking for Social Workers for schools in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area and in Coon Rapids.
