Substance Abuse Court Assessor - Position Starts 7/1/2024
Job Summary:
Right Step is seeking a skilled Substance Abuse Clinical Supervisor for our Court Assessment Unit. The ideal candidate will oversee Substance Use Disorder (SUD) court assessors at multiple court houses and has a range of responsibilities that ensure the effective functioning of the team and the quality of services provided. Here are key responsibilities for this role
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical supervision to SUD court assessors, ensuring they adhere to best practices and ethical standards.
- Conduct regular individual and group supervision sessions to discuss cases, provide guidance, and address any challenges.
- Review and provide feedback on assessment reports and treatment plans.
- Make appropriate referrals to treatment providers and support services.
- Collaborate with court officials, probation officers, treatment providers, and other stakeholders to coordinate care.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Participate in court hearings and provide expert testimony as required.
- Stay current with best practices in substance use assessment and treatment through ongoing professional development.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field preferred.
- Licensure or certification in substance abuse counseling (e.g.,CAC-AD, LADC, LGPC, etc) preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in substance abuse assessment and treatment.
- Familiarity with the criminal justice system and court processes.
- Strong understanding of ASAM PPC
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of professionals.
- High level of organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) and other relevant software.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods.
- Ability to travel to various court locations as needed.
Work Environment:
- Office setting within a courthouse or probation department.
- Interaction with clients who may be experiencing significant stress or behavioral challenges.
