What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Noise Specialist position at Rincon Consultants, Inc?
Rincon Consultants, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Noise Specialist who will focus around noise assessments/studies with secondary responsibilities pertaining to project management and proposals/marketing. This position serves as a liaison between Rincon, our clients, contractors, and relevant agencies to ensure studies are performed compliant with regulatory guidelines and generally accepted professional standards. This position requires the ability to perform and manage fieldwork, a strong understanding of modeling techniques and regulatory requirements, clear writing and oral communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and may require occasional travel.
What Do You Get To Do In This Position:
- Prepare technical noise evaluations for various project ranging from individual activities to regional land use programs (e.g. General Plans)
- Develop mitigation measures, performance measurement matrixes, and monitoring programs
- Prepare proposals and marketing materials
- Conduct senior, peer, and third-party reviews of technical analyses and sections of environmental documents
- Assist in staff training program and workload management
This Job Might Be For You If You Have The Following:
- High level comprehension of noise and vibration regulations and their relationship to CEQA/NEPA assessments
- Experience with noise modeling software such as FHWA TNM, FHWA RCNM, and SoundPlan
- High level understanding of noise modeling and impact assessment methods recommended by the FHWA, FTA, FAA, Caltrans, etc.
- 3 Years of demonstrated professional experience
- A working knowledge of AutoCAD and ARCMap is desirable
