What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Accountant position at Rios Inc?
Description
We have an immediate opening for a Project Accountant that is responsible for monitoring the progress of reports, investigating variances, approving expenses and ensuring project billings are issued to customers as well as payment collection.
Duties include:
- Preparing and maintaining project reports & budgets
- Reporting project profitability and financial forecast to management
- Investigating project variances and submitting variance reports to management
- Preparing and maintaining account reconciliations
- Closing out project accounts upon completion
- Updating contracts according to client requirements and reporting associated budget amendments
- Issuing invoices and payment to clients, consultants, subcontractors, vendors, etc.
- Reviewing and approving timesheets for work related to projects
- Collaborating with project managers to project and maintain project profitability
- Maintaining accounts receivable collections
- Compiling information for internal & external audits

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or related
- 5 years of experience as a Project Accountant preferably in the Architecture or Engineering field
- Familiarity with AIA contracts preferred
- Experience with Deltek Vision or Vantagepoint
