Sanitor

The Environmental Control Sanitarian performs various tasks, as assigned by a Supervisor, in support of our environmental and sanitation operations.  These tasks will include, but is not limited to, the breakdown, cleaning and reassembly of key production equipment and work areas.  The Sanitarian is also responsible for maintaining appropriate records of cleaning inspections and egg room responsibilities. 

• Inspection of line during and after the sanitation process to help expedite the Production/QA hand off step. This will include documenting a visual inspection and performing ATP swabbing and analysing for results to make a determination.
• Maintain sanitary conditions of the facility during production run (including drain cleaning, foot traffic chemical application, chemical titration checks, hose station inspections, air mold testing, chemical inventory, building/parking lot maintenance).   
• Responsible for critical area “special cause” clean-ups as directed by Management 
• Maintain appropriate cleaning and inspection records; especially for allergen washouts; including documentation from prior shift.

• Egg room responsibilities (trucks, CIP etc.)                                                           
• Collect samples, label, and plate environmental swabs as directed by Management. 
• Watch to identify potential food safety issues and bring them to Management.
• Verify that all sanitary practices are being met during a clean- up (proper dismantle, scrubbing, sanitize etc.)                                                                                        

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Able to use Excel, Word and Outlook.
• High level of chemical use knowledge and application.
• Must be able to read and write in English.
• Six months previous experience working in sanitation; food manufacturing preferred.
• Must be able to breakdown, clean and properly reassemble a variety of production equipment.
• Position performs duties in a food manufacturing environment where one would be subjected to mild temperature differences; some heat in summer.  Would have continuous exposure to water, chemicals, flour, sugar, eggs, butter, nuts, allergens and other ingredients.
• Must be able to lift/carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.  Must be able to stand for extended periods.   
• Must be able to perform work while standing or walking.
• Hours will vary, must be able to come in for audits, weekend projects or any other “needed” event as assigned by Management.
