Overview
STEPS To End Family Violence (STEPS)- founded in 1986 by the legendary Sister Mary Nerney- STEPS has the expertise to provide specialized programming to meet the multiple needs of vulnerable individuals and families. STEPS offers a variety of innovative, trauma-informed, anti-oppressive programming focused on the prevention of intimate partner violence; advocacy and healing for survivors; as well as increasing awareness of the epidemic of gender-based violence; and transforming the rhetoric and institutions that sustain such violence. STEPS is a program of Rising Ground.
Responsibilities
The Holistic Healer of the Therapeutic Services Program (TSP) will provide a range of services including but not limited to meditation, reiki, crystal healing, aromatherapy, acupressure, etc. to individual and groups of teens and adults who have been exposed to intimate partner violence. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for social justice and anti-oppressive practice, ample experience providing a range of holistic healing services to various demographics of people, and a desire to work collaboratively with a team. Experience working with survivors of intimate-partner violence is preferred. All candidates must have a strong understanding of trauma-based work. The Holistic Healer position will work under the supervision of the TSP Supervisor remotely/at home. When the program returns to in-person services, clinician will work out of our East Harlem office.
Work Schedule: 35hrs/week 10:00 am – 6:00 pm
Note: Must be flexible to work outside of specified hours to meet client demand. Ability to create your own schedule.
Base salary: $60,000/year

Core Responsibilities:
- Provide holistic healing services to individuals and teens
- Conduct intake assessments and manage a caseload individual clients
- Network within the community and work as an advocate for clients within various institutions
- Maintain accurate case files
- Participate actively in weekly individual and team supervision
- Complete all required paperwork in a timely manner
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bi-lingual English/Spanish, Required
- Experience working in a clinical setting
- Knowledge of practices designed to support survivors of trauma
- Understanding of the dynamics of intimate partner violence
- Proficiency working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and lifestyles with various identities
- Passion for incorporating reflective practice around issues of race, oppression, and diversity into work
- Exceptional interpersonal, speaking, and writing skills and the ability to apply these skills in diverse situations
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible and work as a team member, and independently
