River Forest Yachting Center is a state of the art yacht storage/service facility offering competitive salary based on experience. We are located 5 minutes from Ortona Lock and 10 minutes from downtown LaBelle.

We are looking for an experienced Service Manager to join our team. The RFYC Service Manager reports to the RFYC General Manager and is responsible for managing the various service departments team techs. Responsibilities include working with the customers to obtain the information required to document/perform the work on their vessel with accurate communication and follow through, while making sure all services are completed correctly as schedule(s) dictate. Other important SM position tasks are listed below.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day service operations including scheduling and distribution of work to technicians and paint techs. Work in conjunction with Yard Supervisor and yard teams, RFYC Service Administrator and GM, while utilizing RFYC Service Scheduler and other tools as required to successfully manage work load.
  • Hire, train, motivate, monitor and evaluate the performance of all service team members.
  • Ensure that any complaints are communicated with GM and Service Administrator ASAP, while documenting the cause and correction of each issue. Communicate with client on steps being taken to remedy situation.
  • Meet customers and determine needs, providing clear and precise scope of work and providing same to the Service Administrator for creating/processing the work orders, assigning codes, etc. for the service teams to perform. Work with Service Administrator on reports, records, review/approve daily time sheets, as they relate to pending or in progress work orders.
  • Promote additional labor services in a professional manner for customers, as dictated by vessel condition reports or necessary changes in job scope.
  • Estimate cost of repairs with RFYC team and prepare itemized work orders/estimates, detailing amounts of parts and labor and presenting to customer for approval.
  • Obtain Customer signature on initial requested work lists and change orders. Collect payment for work prior to launching customer vessels. In the event the repair cost is unknown initially, obtain customer approval on work order to diagnose issues, and then contact customer with estimate (if requested) for repairs as soon as determined, and obtain approval for same.
  • Coordinate technical product knowledge and certification training for service teams and provide technical assistance in conjunction with lead tech(s), factory support and tech sales reps when needed.
  • Routinely inspect all work in progress for quality and cleanliness of work performed as required, prior to delivery to the customer.
  • Implement safe, effective and efficient work procedures in conjunction with RFYC Safety Programs.
  • Insure continuous financial growth of department, develop and exceed budgets and manage expenses and department profitability in coordination with RFYC management.
  • Perform other duties as directed by RFYC General Manager.

  • Strong and affective communication with clients, sub-contractors’ coworkers and management.
  • Organized and Accurate record keeping.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
