What are the responsibilities and job description for the HOUSEKEEPING SUPERVISOR-RFI position at Riverfront Inn?
The Housekeeping Supervisor oversees the everyday operation of the Housekeeping Department, ensuring that guestrooms are clean, correctly supplied and in good working order, in compliance with Vintage Hotels, Inc standards. The Housekeeping Supervisor also directly assists guests and must provide the best possible customer service experience for them.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Satisfaction and Comfort of Guests:
- Respond to all guest requests in a positive and prompt manner
- Ensure that exemplary customer service is the priority of all housekeeping staff
- Walk the property daily to ensure the physical condition of the property is safe, and the cleanliness of the property, public and employee areas, meets set quality standards
- Submit timely Service Requests
- Advise Safety Officer of any safety concerns for both employees and guests
- Inspect all rooms after the Room Attendant has marked them as completed
- Ensure in room amenities are in good working order and replaced when needed
- Answer guest questions and provide directions
Personnel:
- Assist Room Attendants and Housepersons where needed to keep them on task and on time, including stripping rooms, making beds and other duties, as needed
- Ensure all tasks assigned to Room Attendants are complete prior to their clocking out for the day
- Knowledge of proper use and care of cleaning equipment such as vacuum and carpet cleaners
- Knowledge of proper use of all cleaning chemicals and location of SDS sheets
- Ability to train, or oversee the training of, housekeeping staff in all areas
- Cover Room Attendant or Houseperson shifts or duties, as needed
Relationship with other departments:
- Communicate with the Front Desk regarding status of rooms
- Report damage found in rooms to the Front Desk and Maintenance Department, as needed
Administrative:
- Generate reports from the Property Management System to assign task sheets to housekeeping team members for the day
- Generate reports from the Property Management System to assess any special requirements for guests arriving that day
- Maintain SDS books to ensure they are updated as needed
- Log and store lost and found items from guest rooms properly
- Perform other duties as assigned

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
- Must pass a criminal background check
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work requires repeated bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling and climbing of stairs
- Work requires use of mechanized cleaning equipment such as vacuums
- Work requires repeated contact with cleaning chemicals
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
- Up to 50% of the work can be outdoors in all season temperatures
WORK HOURS AND WAGE
- Day shifts, weekends and holidays
- Hourly position, Non-Exempt
- $15.00 per hour, review in 90-days
