Summary
The Orthopedic Cast Tech serves as the representative of the department with regards to communication, collaboration, and education. This includes, but not limited to, communication with all of the pods and pod leads, the management team, and physicians. The Orthopedic Cast Tech will work in unison with the staff in performing the necessary daily clinical duties and collaborate with the nurse Clinical Coordinator to ensure that the daily clinic needs are met. Responsibilities include, but are not limited too; rooming, taking patient vitals, patient care coordination, casting, splinting, bracing, and work authorizations and workqueues are needed.

Education/Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma/Equivalent
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- MA and/or casting experience required
- Knowledge of medical terminology required
- BLS certified required
- Must be certified as a Registered Orthopedic Tech. If not completed upon hire, must be completed within 18 months of hire

- Monthly staff competency training for casting, splinting, and bracing
