Skills Required
- Must be knowledgeable and physically able to perform general carpentry, plumbing, painting,
- and electrical maintenance work on the school campus consisting of multiple buildings.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems a plus.
- Must possess basic computer competencies.
- Must be able to interact effectively and efficiently with the school leadership, faculty, and staff.
- Must be able to act as Facilities Operations Manager in absence of the incumbent.
- Must have and maintain a current Florida Driver’s License.
Specific Duties
- Manage and perform the maintenance of the school grounds and buildings.
- Accomplishment of the regularly scheduled maintenance plan for all mechanical systems and
- equipment, and ensure maintenance is performed as scheduled.
- Perform general maintenance of facilities as needed, assess the need for outside support,
- coordinate with the Facilities Operations Manager, and arrange for and oversee work as
- necessary.
- Perform monthly inspections of facilities to assess the need for repairs and identify safety issues.
- Inform Facilities Operations Manager or generate work order as needed.
- Ensure AC filters are replaced on all units on a regular schedule.
- Conduct fire, safety, and security inspections as needed.
- Check and record pump pressure gauges in campus buildings daily.
- Inspect fire and building exit lighting monthly and replace as needed.
- Respond to facilities repair requests as needed. Inform Facilities Operations Manager and
- generate work order as needed.
- Schedule work to minimize disruption of class activities.
- Provide general painting and carpentry work as needed.
- Assist with the grounds maintenance (trash pickup, cleaning sidewalks, lawn mowing, etc.) as
- needed.
- Assist Facilities Operations Manager with annual maintenance budget preparation as needed.
- Prioritize and complete deferred facilities and maintenance work during the summer.
- Assist with reviewing building janitorial support services and coordinating with Facilities
- Operations Manager.
- Provide timely and efficient support, set up, and take down of special programs such as Open
- House, Book Fair, Christmas Programs, Graduation, etc. throughout the year.
- Assist with facilities and grounds maintenance assessments and cost proposals as needed.
- Ensure ground irrigation systems provide adequate coverage for the given season.
- Maintain safe work area throughout campus and in maintenance and custodial areas.
- Act as assistant to the Facilities Operations Manager as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
