To help continue our success, we are looking for a full-time Manager of Mine Planning and Design for our corporate headquarters in Davenport, IA. This position will work directly with ownership to manage developing, updating, and implementing short term, intermediate, and long term mine plans for open pit limestone and granite operations. The position will also direct work for our in-house exploration drilling unit. Company operations are located in Iowa, Illinois, and Missouri. Candidates must be willing to work within all locations and travel as necessary (< 20% overnight travel).

Responsibilities
- Oversee and direct work of mining engineers and surveyors
- Perform annual reviews of all locations to ensure mine plans are being followed
- Coordinate with geologists on an as-needed basis for mine planning and exploration drilling
- Perform mine planning and design utilizing Mine Planning Software and AutoCAD
- Construct drill hole databases from exploratory drill data
- Develop geologic block models in coordination with on-staff geologists
- Oversight and coordination of exploratory drilling operations
- Oversight and coordination of overburden removal projects on an as-needed basis
- Technical assistance for all operations
Qualifications
- BS in Mining Engineering from a U.S. accredited University.
- 5 years of experience in open pit mine design and planning
- Excellent organizational, oral, written, and analytical skills
