What are the responsibilities and job description for the Server position at RIVERSTREET RIVERBOAT?
Reports to: Boat Manager/Food & Beverage Manager
Summary of Position: Provide friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional dining experience for all of our guests. Each server’s primary objective is to impress our guests with such gracious and attentive service that they will want to return.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provides immediate attention to all guests when they are seated; makes all guests feel comfortable and welcome.
- Informs guests and makes recommendations on drink specials and what food is offered on the menu.
- Answers questions about food, beverages, and other restaurant functions and services.
- Takes beverage orders from guests; relays orders to the bar.
- Delivers food and beverage orders from the bar to guests in a timely manner.
- Performs side-work at the start and end of each shift as required by service station assignment.
- Maintains clean service areas.
- Monitors and observes guests’ dining experience. Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service. Responds promptly and courteously to any requests.
- Suggests and serves coffee and after-dinner drinks.
- Clears table of dirty dishes once the guests are finished eating.
- Prepares final bar bill, presents check to guests, accepts payment, processes credit card charges, and makes a change (if applicable).
- Is ready and willing to assist fellow servers as situations arise.
- Begins to clear and re-set tables once the boat returns.
- Thanks, guests for their visit and invite them to return.
- Is available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the boat as directed by the boat manager or immediate supervisor.
- Reports all safety, accident, and sanitation concerns to the managers on duty.
- Attends all meetings scheduled by the management staff.
- Performs all other duties deemed by management as an integral part of the job
Qualifications:
- Minimum 6 months experience as a waiter, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Must have basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions.
- Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift food trays weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours)
- Must be able to communicate clearly & effectively in the predominant language(s) of our guests
- Must possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and submit to random testing during employment.
- Must be available for a varying work schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
Salary : $19,000 - $24,000
