What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Administrative Assistant position at RJ Corman Railroad Group?
Accountability: Performs a wide range of clerical and administrative support duties including data entry, report generation, payroll functions, and external billing. Provides general clerical support activities within the department when necessary.
- Provides support to the Chief Mechanical Officer of the Railroad Company and other managers as necessary
- Performs time entry for mechanical department employees
- Prepares billing for external customers and checks work for accuracy and completeness
- Tracks usage of company assets in AssetWorks and other asset management software
- Compiles periodic reports for department
- Provides other general clerical support as necessary within the department
- Performs other duties as assigned
Specialized or Technical Knowledge, or Education and Experience: One to two years relevant experience or training in clerical, data entry, spreadsheet, word processing and file maintenance activities. A minimum of an Associates Degree (AA) is preferred. Ability to consistently and accurately input data is mandatory. Proficiency in Excel and Word.
Physical Requirements: Limited lifting, no greater than 50 pounds in the movement of office materials and equipment. Hand and finger dexterity for use of keyboard skills; ability to use video display terminal and telephonic equipment in course of work.
Environmental Conditions: Performs duties in an inside administrative office environment.
Major or Unusual Problems: Rapidly expanding company requires professional demeanor and ability to multitask in time sensitive office environment.
Job Dimensions: Performs duties under limited supervision while given general direction. Does not supervise employees.
