Position Overview
RMGS, Inc. is currently recruiting a Human Resources Manager at our headquarters in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
As one or two-person HR Department for a growing business of 130 employees - administers human resources programs including, but not limited to, talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, disciplinary matters; record keeping, disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; recognition, and morale and training and development.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Performs benefits administration, including running annual open enrollment, enrolling new hires/disenrolling terminations, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefits information to employees. Works with benefits broker to review plans annually.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations, to include the applicable Federal Contractor regulations.
- Oversees development of affirmative action program; files EEO-1 and VETS 4212 reports annually; and maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
- Handles employee relations counseling, collaborates with labor attorney, as needed, and conducts exit interviews.
- Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
- Performs other duties as required.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Ten years of human resource management experience.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in collecting, maintaining, and assimilating varied data sets
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to diplomatically interact with personnel at all levels
- Perform duties independently with minimal oversight
- Experience with PC operations and use of common/standard business software programs and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, and Power Point)
Preferred qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP
- Knowledge of Federal Government Contracting
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now
- Secret security clearance
