Job Summary:
Supports computerized information systems including computers, printers, scanners, servers, Local Area Networks (LAN), telephony systems, etc. for several locations. Assists dealership personnel in troubleshooting problems/issues and training for all hardware and software applications.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities include the following but not limited to:
- Manage computers, ensuring that each desktop is patched, has the latest Virus/EDR, and is protected against intrusion.
- Maintain User Security / Windows / Other applications as necessary.
- Maintains a broad knowledge of operating systems, dealership applications, and hardware (i.e., Microsoft applications, CDK DMS system, manufacturer systems, and other third-party applications, etc.).
- Monitors system logs and activity on all print and file servers and ensures they are patched and backed up regularly.
- Troubleshooting LAN problems with the support of the network manager.
- Confers with corporate IT staff regularly to identify hardware and LAN needs. Reviews existing hardware to make recommendations for upgrades or changes to existing systems. Controlling the costs of any purchase is essential and is a high priority for this position. All equipment purchases need to be coordinated and approved by management.
- Coordinates equipment installation and maintenance activities with the appropriate department managers to avoid disruption in business operations. This will require some work to be done on weekends or after normal business hours.
- Assist our dealerships with special projects as it relates to their IT needs i.e., tent sales, and movement of hardware to facilitate changes in business processes; all as directed by the management.
- Must utilize and update the ticket tracking system to help prioritize and provide timely customer support to each dealership.
- Works with vendors to resolve application and hardware issues as needed to support the store.
- Helps with the training of personnel in the use of computers, printers, and other peripherals including desktop applications and telephony.
- Submit weekly task reports to the manager, detailing key achievements and projects/tickets to be completed for the next week.
- Be available nights and weekends to address business interruptions caused by unavailable systems or LANs.
- Performs other related duties as required and approved by dealership controllers.
