We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our finance team as either an Accountant or an Accounting Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end processes, account reconciliation, and general ledger maintenance.
Job Description:
As an Accountant or Accounting Assistant at this company, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. You will work closely with the finance team to support the day-to-day accounting operations, making a significant contribution to our financial success. Key responsibilities include:
Accounts Payable:
- Review and process vendor invoices for payment.
- Verify the accuracy of invoices, ensuring proper coding and authorization.
- Prepare and maintain accounts payable reports.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
Accounts Receivable:
- Assist in the generation and distribution of customer invoices.
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding customer accounts.
- Post customer payments accurately.
- Maintain accounts receivable aging reports.
Month-End Closing:
- Assist in the month-end financial close process.
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
- Generate financial reports and assist in variance analysis.
Account Reconciliation:
- Conduct regular bank and account reconciliations.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date reconciliation records.
General Ledger:
- Assist in the maintenance of the general ledger.
- Ensure proper coding and classification of financial transactions.
- Support the preparation of financial statements.
