What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Specialist position at Robert Half?
Robert Half is partnering with a local school district to find an Accounting Specialist on a contract-to-hire basis. The Accounting Specialist will manage all financial accounting and cash transaction records for the School District as well as assist the Assistant Superintendent for Finance & Administrative Operations and the Director of Business Services with various finance-related tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor bank accounts and process payments
- Process budgetary transfer requests
- Maintain petty cash and credit card for the Administrative Building
- Anticipate funding needs and transfer funds accordingly
- Process monthly bank statements, debt service payments, and void checks
- Print monthly PSERS statements and transmit quarterly retirement contributions
- Process bi-weekly & bi-monthly transfers for payrolls and weekly wires for the District's benefit fund
- Post journal entries, interest received, etc. into the computer for the monthly Treasurer's report
- Assist, as necessary, with preparation of financial reports for the Board of School Directors
- Mail and/or email audit reports, annual budgets, and annual Financial Reports to governing bodies as necessary
- Maintain correct wiring instructions with the various financial institutions that the School District invests with
- Maintain legal files
