Robert Half is working with the CFO of this 100 year old family-owned wholesale and retail business to hire their first Assistant Controller. The CFO is looking for an up and coming professional who can grow with the organization as they enter into a new era of this organization. The recent migration to NetSuite has created multiple opportunities for the company to streamline processes and create efficiencies. The Assistant Controller will be responsible for the general ledger, financial reporting, handling the annual audit and managing the treasury function as well as the accounting department. There is absolute room to grow in this progressive organization, along with a talented staff. In this Assistant Controller role, you will utilize your problem solving skills by taking initiative to identity and resolve problems. The Assistant Controller will be reporting directly to the CFO.. Key responsibilities
- Oversee regular account reconciliation to completion
- Encourage accountability and the meeting of deliverables
- Backfill for CFO when necessary
- Sort out and construct Ad Hoc financial reports
- Aid implementation and guarantee adherence to accounting policies and procedures
- Assist with the preparation of GAAP financial statements, including budgeting and forecasting
- Construct relevant and timely reports on financial data analytics like actual spend against budgets/outlook, the monthly flash report, and key financial metrics
- Other duties as assigned
- Forward-thinking preparation and coordination of fiscal year-end audits
- Determine and form process improvements to streamline reporting and improve team efficiency
- Facilitate to ensure a competent, trained staff through regular assessment, development, and goal setting
- Ready different technical accounting analyses, policies, and procedures
- Facilitate the accounting team during the closing process to see to it that deadlines are met
