We are seeking a diligent Bookkeeper to join our team in Miami, Florida. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity, providing critical support to our financial operations. As a Bookkeeper, you'll be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and developing financial reports. This position is pivotal in ensuring our financial data is up-to-date and accurate, which helps us make informed business decisions.
Responsibilities
- Establish a system to account for financial transactions by developing a chart of accounts and defining bookkeeping policies and procedures.
- Maintain subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions, as well as balancing subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries.
- Maintain the general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries and balancing the general ledger by preparing trial balance and reconciling entries.
- Preserve historical records by filing documents and prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing reports, and advising management on needed actions.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Conduct data entry tasks and reconcile statements, investigating any discrepancies.
- Handle accounts payable, enter bills, and credit card charges.
- Reconcile credit cards and perform day-to-day duties such as copying and filing.
- Undertake any other duties as assigned.
- Proficiency in Account Reconciliation
- Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Familiarity with Bank Reconciliations
- Demonstrable skills in Bookkeeping
- Accurate Data Entry abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Month End Close procedures
- Knowledge of Payroll systems
- Expertise in using QuickBooks software
