This position is for candidates who can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. Key responsibilities:
· Lead the monthly accounting close process, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
· Provide forecasts using a mix of historical data and predictive modeling.
· Compile and review financial statements and other financial reports.
· Manage and prepare monthly revenue recognition schedules.
· Leverage data analysis to identify trends, providing strategic recommendations to enhance profitability.
· Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws regarding finances, tax filings, and reporting.
· Maintain up-to-date and accurate financial records in line with modern financial practices.
· Mentor, develop and lead a large team of accounting professionals.
· Flexible in completing tasks beyond formal job responsibilities
· Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed
· Manage finance department operations, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
