The permanent Controller position is situated in the Pasadena, Texas area. Responsibilities include planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. WHAT MAKES THIS POSITION FUN, CHALLENGING, AND REWARDING?
- Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals
- Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time
- Analyze deliverables of self and team to confirm they meet client expectations
- Work closely with executive team and partners to facilitate efficient and effective firm-wide operation
- Give executive committee and partners monthly financial reports
- Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
- Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required
- Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
- Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis
- Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
- Manage finance department operations, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Requirements
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE CONSIDERED
- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
- 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
- Be detailed, flexible, and organized
- Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
- Extraordinary analytical, quantitative and social skills
- Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired
- Prior work done in public accounting is desired
- Excellent verbal, written, and social communication skills
- CPA/MBA preferred
- Expertise in financial reporting
- Experience with Balance Sheet Reviews
- Practical knowledge and implementation of Epicor ERP systems is highly preferred
- Experience with Flux Analysis
- Demonstrated knowledge of Job Cost
- Solid understanding of month end closings
- Billing experience highly preferred
- Foundational knowledge in forecasting
- Background working with Software Implementations
- Proficiency in budgeting
Salary : $130,000 - $150,000
