Controller
A client of ours is looking for a Controller for a contract role. As the Controller you will be responsible for developing and implementing financial systems, processes, controls, and procedures for accounting functions within the hospital organization.
Responsibilities of Controller
- Coordinates the completion of annual audit and tax preparation
- Monitor daily deposits and reconcile with G/L posting to assure accuracy of daily reporting and facilitates month end processing and reconciliation
- Prepare detailed analyses as needed for administration to make operating decisions
- Address any budget variances and provide detailed explanations
- Review monthly departmental results with directors and reviewing variances to budget as well as expectations
- Monitor the expenditures of the facility to maintain compliance with the budget
- Assume responsibility for developing and achieving budget targets for the department and the facility
- Performs advanced accounting management and establishes specific reporting policies and procedures for organization
- Completes and coordinates as necessary all reporting systems, billing, and collecting, and accounts payable processes
- Prepare and distribute daily revenue, cash, and census reports
- Report daily on productivity and ensure reporting is accurate to address staffing concerns in real time
- Operate within the confines of the annual budget as adjusted for volume
- Oversee all aspects of accounting, including month end close, preparing internal financial statements, and preparing various reports
- Completes and publishes monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in a routine and timely manner

Requirements
Skills/Qualifications of Controller
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Great Plains experience required for this position
- 5 years’ experience as a Controller; preferably in a health care setting
- CPA preferred
- Non-profit experience preferred
